I actually made two different lunch trips to Paper Plane in the same week and each time I was pretty satisfied with both my experiences. The cafe is located not too far away from Parramatta Westfields (about 10 minutes walk) but somewhat stands out with giant blackboards in front and their cute garden style furnishings.


Let's start off with what I consider the star item on their menu; the "Paper Plane Burger ($12.90)". Other than peanut butter, in between the soft brioche bun was the juicy beef patty, bacon, lettuce, tomato and melted cheese. The subtle peanut butter aftertaste of this delicious burger left us wanting more. The peanut butter didn't overpower the original flavours of the burger; actually the brioche bun probably could've done with another slather of it but hey, that might just be my addiction talking. The burger is also served a side of 'Bad Boys' which are actually big golden chunky chips which I couldn't get enough of. The seasoned chips were crunchy on the outside but were fluffy and potato-ey on in the side. What would of made them even better if they were served with some sort of dipping sauce of aioli.



I also tried the "Chicken Sliders ($11.50)" on another visit. The chicken was marinated in honey mustard topped with creamy slaw and sandwiched between mini brioche buns. In comparison to the Paper Plane Burger and the fact that it came with fries not the delicious fat chips, I would probably give the sliders a miss.


My dining companion had the "Portobello Eggs Benedict ($14)" which consisted of two poached eggs with hollandaise sauce on top of slices of sourdough bread and a giant Portobello mushroom in the centre of the board. The mushroom which was flavoured with pesto and feta was somewhat overpowering on its own and you definitely needed to eat it together with the other elements with the dish to balance out the strong flavours.

Paper Plane Café is rapidly gaining popularity in the West and not just for their delicious all day breakfast and lunch offerings, but also for their relax ambience, friendly service and value for money. Their extensive menu has something for everyone and with most food items under $15 (and generous servings as well)  I would definitely see myself coming back again and again to Paper Planes Café.
