Euforia Balmain East, Balmain East

By 1:34 AM

Yet another brunch post! We made a stop by Euforia Balmain East for some much needed fuel before some serious outlet shopping at Birkenhead Point, Drummoyne. This cosy cafe is located on the quieter end of the main street of Balmain.

The menu offered a variety of  breakfast items as well as of salads, and tasty sounding grilled and pressed sandwiches for lunch. So straight to the food.. The Smoked Salmon Stack was the epitome of freshness. Although I'm not a fan of smoked salmon myself, my fellow diner stated that all the elements of the dish were spot on and the light sprinkle of crumbed feta gave it a hit of extra flavour without being too overpowering.

One of the many enticing dishes of the menu was the Spanish Chorizo Breakfast ($16). This dish came out exactly as it sounded on the menu but looked even better. On top of the nicely stacked plate were the chorizo sausages which were cooked differently to what I've had in the past. They were slightly 'crunchier' than I've had before but nonetheless still juicy and delicious. And who doesn't love a good yolk porn photo? =P

Salted Caramel Gelato Milkshake ($6)

To wash it all down we had a Salted Caramel Gelato Milkshake. The milkshake was thick and creamy but could have done with some more of the 'salted' taste. They were nice enough to give an extra cup of the leftover milkshake which couldn't fit in the very cute milk bottle which it was served in.

Euforia Balmain East would be the place to go to escape the busy main street and enjoy a nice and quiet breakfast or lunch; you also get a decent view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.  The corner cafe also seemed to be popular among the locals as I notice the friendly staff make casual conversation with passer-bys picking up their daily coffee and delicious pressed sandwiches for lunch.
